Amicabots are a species of robots occupying a planet far, far away from ours. Created by a now-extinct species colloquially known as the Predecessors, Amicabots were once designed as companions, helpers, friends, and members of society. When a supervolcanic eruption devastated the planet and caused a mass extinction of the Predecessors, Amicabots remained due to their synthetic structure and hardiness. It's been only a short time, less than a decade, since the apocalyptic event. With robots remaining as the only sapient species on the planet, Amicabots (among other species yet to be discovered) have made an effort to rebuild society out of the ruins.

Amicabots are made up entirely of synthetic material; metals, rubber, plastic, and similar structures make up the composition of an Amicabot. Every Amicabot has a core, typically located on its chest unless a manufacturing error causes it to be misplaced. These cores are small, compact nuclear generators that can run for centuries without wavering, and are encased in heavy metals such as lead that prevent radiation from leaking outside of an Amicabot. Amicabots internal components are comprised of various parts such as circuitry, wire, coolant, and a skeleton typically made of a sturdy metal like titanium.

Amicabots may be found in high rarity tiers that change the composition of their body and add new parts that the common Default Amicabots lack!

The easiest way to obtain an Amicabot is by going to the MYO shop for MYO (Make Your Own) slots at the MYO Shop! First-time owners (FTOs) can receive a MYO slot for an Amicabot of the lowest rarity tier, Default, for free. Default MYOs may be purchased at any time using the website currency, Spare Parts, that is earned through daily activities, trading with other members, and completing art prompts. Higher rarity MYOs such as Upgraded, Enhanced, and Premium may be purchased once per month. The highest rarity Amicabots, Corrupted, may be obtained through adoptables, mod customs, and occasionally-held MYO slot sales specifically for Corrupted slots.

While there is no way for a non-corrupted Amicabot to become Corrupted-tier, there is a lore reason for it! Corruption can happen through various ways, such as through obtaining malware from other Amicabots or electronics, becoming damaged enough to expose radiation or internal components, being built with factory defects, or through other errors made during creation. Some Amicabots have even become corrupted by the apocalyptic event itself, due to the intense physiological stress put on Amicabots. You may give an existing Amicabot, regardless of rarity, certain Corrupted-tier traits through certain items.
